Tomer Hemed (Hebrew: תומר חמד; born 2 May 1987) is an Israeli professional footballer. He plays as a forward, which means he helps score goals.

About Tomer Hemed
Tomer Hemed was born and grew up in Kiryat Tiv'on, Israel. His family has roots from both Syria and Poland. Because of his Polish family background, Tomer also has a Polish passport. This made it easier for him to play football in European countries. He is the youngest of four brothers.
Tomer is a religious person. In September 2018, he was a substitute for Queens Park Rangers in a game. This was because he was observing Yom Kippur, a special Jewish holiday. He did not eat or exercise until the holiday ended. After breaking his fast, he joined the game later on.
In 2013, Tomer married Shunit Faragi, an Israeli model. She was second place in the Miss Israel competition in 2008. She also represented Israel in Miss Universe 2008. They have three daughters together.
Tomer Hemed's Football Journey
Starting at Maccabi Haifa
Tomer Hemed joined Maccabi Haifa's main team in early 2006. He had been scoring many goals for their under-18 team. He played three times with the main team and scored one goal. He then went back to the youth team.
Tomer made his official debut on 3 March 2007. He came on as a substitute in a game they lost 1–2. He scored his first professional goals on 26 May. He scored both goals in a 2–0 win against Maccabi Herzliya.
In 2007, he played with the Under-21 team in a tournament called Torneo di Viareggio. He scored one goal, but his team was knocked out early.
Tomer was then loaned to other teams. He played for Maccabi Herzliya, Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Ahi Nazareth. At Nazareth, he scored nine goals, but the team finished last.
Hemed returned to Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2010. He played in 45 matches during the 2010–11 season. He scored 18 goals, and his club won the championship that year.
Playing in Spain: Mallorca and Almería
On 21 June 2011, Tomer Hemed signed a three-year contract with RCD Mallorca. This club plays in La Liga, Spain's top football league. He played his first game in the Spanish league on 28 August. He started the game and received a yellow card in a 1–0 win.
Tomer scored his first goals in Spain on 1 October. He scored both goals for his team in a 2–2 draw. He also scored twice in his first Copa del Rey game. This was a big 6–1 win against Real Sociedad.
In his first season in Spain (2011–12), Hemed scored nine goals. Four of these were from the penalty spot. In his second season (2012–13), he scored 11 goals. However, his team was moved down to a lower league. In May 2013, Tomer got a serious injury to his Achilles tendon. This kept him from playing for seven months.
On 2 July 2014, Hemed went back to Spain's top league. He signed a two-year deal with UD Almería. He scored his first goal for Almería on 4 October in a 2–2 draw.
In January 2015, Tomer scored two goals in two different games. He scored against Málaga CF (a 2–1 win) and Valencia CF (a 2–3 loss). He finished the season with eight goals. He was the club's top scorer, but his team was moved down to a lower league again.
Moving to England: Brighton & Hove Albion
On 24 June 2015, Hemed signed a three-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion. This team plays in the English Championship. He scored his first goal for Brighton from a penalty kick. This goal helped them win 2–1 against Fulham.
Between September 2015 and February 2016, Tomer only scored one goal. Some fans were not happy about this. But he soon started scoring again. He finished the season as the club's top scorer with 17 goals.
Tomer Hemed scored 13 goals in the 2016–17 season. This was the season Brighton won promotion to the Premier League. He often shared starting positions with other top scorers like Glenn Murray and Sam Baldock. Together, they scored 44 league goals. Some of Tomer's important goals included a late goal in a 3–3 draw against Brentford. He also scored the only goal in a tough 1–0 win against Cardiff City. He scored a late penalty in a 1–0 win against Burton Albion.
On 9 September 2017, Hemed scored his first Premier League goal for Brighton. It was in a 3–1 victory over West Bromwich Albion. He scored again in Brighton's next home Premier League game. This was a 1–0 win against Newcastle United on 24 September. A few days later, the FA gave Hemed a three-match ban. This was for stepping on a Newcastle player's leg during the game. The referee had not seen the incident.
On 16 November 2017, Hemed signed a new contract with Brighton. This kept him with the team until the summer of 2019.
Loan to Queens Park Rangers
On 23 August 2018, Hemed joined Queens Park Rangers on a loan for one season. Two days later, he scored his first goal for the club. This was on his first game, a 1–0 win against Wigan Athletic.
Charlton Athletic
On 19 August 2019, Hemed joined Charlton Athletic. He signed a one-year contract after leaving Brighton. He played his first game for Charlton as a substitute in a 1–0 win. This was against Brentford on 24 August. Tomer left Charlton at the end of his contract. He played 19 games but did not score any goals.
Wellington Phoenix
On 30 November 2020, Hemed signed a one-year contract with A-League club Wellington Phoenix. He was a "marquee player," which means he was a well-known player paid more to attract fans. He scored his first goal in his eighth game on 15 March 2021.
On 17 May 2021, Tomer Hemed got attention from the media. He wore an Israeli flag and a Jewish kippah (a small cap) during a game. He received a yellow card for covering his head. The club's general manager said that Hemed was praying for peace and showing support for his country.
On 10 July 2021, Wellington Phoenix announced that Tomer Hemed had left the club.
Western Sydney Wanderers
On 11 July 2021, the Western Sydney Wanderers announced that Hemed had signed a one-year deal with them.
Playing for Israel
Tomer Hemed played for Israel's national youth teams. He played for the under-17, under-18, under-19, and under-21 teams. In January 2011, he was called up to the main Israel national team. He made his unofficial debut on 26 January, scoring in a 3–2 win.
In May 2011, Hemed was called up to train with the national team. On 4 June, he made his official international debut. He started the game and helped Yossi Benayoun score in a 2–1 victory.
Hemed scored his first international goal on 6 September. This was in a 1–3 loss against Croatia. He also scored three goals (a hat-trick) in a big 6–0 win against Luxembourg on 12 October the next year.
