Tommy Davidson (born November 10, 1963) is a famous American actor and comedian. He is known for his funny roles in TV shows and movies.
Tommy was one of the first cast members on the comedy show In Living Color. He also played Mitchell in Between Brothers and Dexter in Malcolm & Eddie. Many kids know his voice as Oscar Proud from The Proud Family and its newer show, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. He has also been in movies like Booty Call, Bamboozled, and Black Dynamite. In 2022, Tommy shared stories from his book, Living in Color: What's Funny about Me, on a show called Storybound.

Early Life and Education
Tommy Davidson was born Anthony Reed on November 10, 1963, in Greenville, Mississippi. When he was very young, he was adopted by a kind white woman. His new parents changed his name to Thomas Davidson. He grew up with two older siblings, Michael and Beryle.
His family moved around a lot when he was a child. They lived in Colorado, Wyoming, and Oregon before he turned five. When he was five, his parents divorced. Tommy, his mother, and siblings then moved to Washington, D.C. They later lived in different towns in Maryland, including Wheaton, Maryland, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park.
Tommy went to Rosemary Hills Elementary School, Sligo Middle School, and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. After finishing high school in 1981, he studied communications at the University of the District of Columbia. He also worked different jobs, like in a hospital kitchen and cleaning at restaurants.
Comedy and Acting Career
Tommy Davidson began his career as a stand-up comedian in 1984. He performed in many comedy clubs in cities like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He even opened concerts for famous singers like Patti LaBelle and Kenny G.
In 1987, Tommy won a stand-up comedy contest at the famous Apollo Theater. Soon after, he moved to California to pursue his dreams. There, he met fellow comedian Martin Lawrence. Tommy performed at the Comedy Store, where he was noticed by actor Robert Townsend. This led to Tommy warming up the crowd for an HBO comedy special. He also appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show.
Tommy became well-known as an original cast member of the popular sketch comedy show In Living Color from 1990 to 1994. This show helped launch many comedy careers. He continued to act in many TV shows and movies, showing his talent for both comedy and serious roles.

Tommy Davidson is married to Amanda Moore. They got married in 2015. He has six children.
