Touché Turtle and Dum Dum is a fun American cartoon show. It was made by Hanna-Barbera Productions. This show was part of a bigger cartoon series called The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series. It aired alongside two other cartoons: Wally Gator and Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har.

The show first aired from September 3, 1962, to August 26, 1963. Later, it became very popular in the United Kingdom. It was shown many times on the BBC in the 1970s and 1980s. It was also part of the Children's BBC service in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Meet Touché Turtle and Dum Dum

Touché Turtle and his friend Dum Dum were a team of heroes. Touché was voiced by Bill Thompson, who also voiced the cartoon dog Droopy. Dum Dum, a kind sheepdog, was voiced by Alan Reed, known for being the voice of Fred Flintstone.

This brave duo were expert fencers. They used their skills to fight bad guys. They also saved kings, queens, and anyone else in trouble. Touché was the leader, even if he wasn't always the smartest. He carried a trusty sword and wore a fancy musketeer-style hat with a feather. His special saying was "Touché away!" Dum Dum was his loyal helper. He wore a smaller feathered hat and a scarf.

Touché's Fencing Skills

Touché Turtle used a standard fencing foil as his weapon. A fencing foil is a light, flexible sword used in the sport of fencing. Even though Touché wasn't super smart, he was very good at sword fighting. He could hold his own against many different opponents.

There was a funny thing about how Touché spoke. He always said "suh-wohrd" instead of "sword." He pronounced the "w" sound, which is usually silent in that word.

Adventures Through Time

The cartoon series didn't follow a strict timeline. Touché and Dum Dum had adventures in many different settings. They traveled to the Old West and the Middle Ages. They also battled villains in the modern era of the 1960s. This meant they could have exciting stories in any time period.

The Ringing Shell

A funny joke happened in almost every episode. Touché Turtle kept a telephone inside his shell! The phone would ring at the worst possible times, usually when someone needed help. Touché would politely excuse himself. Then, he would duck into his shell to answer the call. He did this no matter where he was or what he was doing.
