Trinidad is a small place in Grant County, Washington. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's also a ghost town, meaning it used to have more people living there but now has very few.
Trinidad is located between the towns of Quincy and Wenatchee. It sits on a ridge that looks over the Columbia River. This spot is about 928 feet (283 meters) above sea level.
History of Trinidad
Trinidad started out as a stop for trains. Workers from the Great Northern Railway gave it its name. They thought the area looked a lot like Trinidad, Colorado, which is another place with interesting land features.
Location and Surroundings
Trinidad is right on the edge of Douglas County. It's located directly above the Crescent Bar Resort, which is a popular spot on the Columbia River.
Even though it was once a ghost town, Trinidad is becoming more popular. More homes are being built there now. A winery called White Heron Cellars has been located above Trinidad since 1989.
