Trooz is located along the Vesdre River. It is also part of a group called GREOA. This group helps with economic development in the Ourthe and Amblève valleys.
The municipality of Trooz includes several smaller areas, or "districts." These districts are Forêt, Fraipont, and Nessonvaux. The main part of the town, which is also called Trooz, used to be a small village. This village was located in the Forêt district. That's how the whole municipality got its name!
A Look at Trooz's Industrial Past
Trooz has an interesting history, especially when it comes to making things! One of its districts, Nessonvaux, was once home to a famous car company.
Impéria Car Factory
Between 1904 and 1958, a company called Impéria made cars in Nessonvaux. The building where they built these cars is still standing today.
This factory building is very special. It has a test track for cars right on its roof! This was a unique way to test cars after they were made. There are only two other known roof test tracks like this in the world. One is on the old Fiat factory in Turin, Italy. The other is at the Palacio Chrysler in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which opened in 1928.
