Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery is a cool museum in Carlisle, England. It first opened its doors in 1893. The main building used to be a fancy old house called a Jacobean mansion.
When it first opened, Tullie House was more than just a museum. It also had a library, an art school, and a technical school. The building itself, including its newer parts, is a very important historic building. Even the wall and gates outside are special!
The schools moved out in the 1950s. The library also moved in 1986. This gave the museum more space to grow. It had big makeovers in 1989-90 and again in 2000-01.
Since 2011, Tullie House has been run by a special group called the Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust. It works with other museums in the area.
