Turbo Teen is an exciting American cartoon show. It's all about a teenager who can turn into a cool sports car! This show was on Saturday mornings on the ABC Network. There were thirteen episodes in total, and they first aired in 1984.

Later, the series was shown again on the USA Network's USA Cartoon Express block.

What's the Story?

Turbo Teen follows the adventures of a teenager named Brett Matthews. One stormy night, he crashes his red sports car into a secret government lab. Inside, he and his car are hit by a special "molecular beam." This beam was invented by a scientist named Dr. Chase.

Because of this accident, Brett and his car become linked! Brett now has an amazing power. He can turn into his car when it's super hot. And he changes back into a human when it's very cold.

With this new superhero ability, Brett becomes a crime-fighter. He doesn't do it alone! He teams up with his friends:

  • Pattie: His girlfriend, who is a freelance reporter.
  • Alex: His best friend and a mechanic. Alex calls Brett "TT."
  • Rusty: Brett's loyal dog.

Together, they go on many adventures. They fight bad guys and solve mysteries.

The Search for a Cure

A big part of the story is Brett, Dr. Chase, and a government agent named Cardwell trying to find a way to make Brett normal again.

Who is the Dark Rider?

There's also a mysterious bad guy called the "Dark Rider." He drives a giant monster truck. The Dark Rider wants to capture Brett. He hopes to learn the secret behind Brett's amazing powers. The voice of Dark Rider is done by Frank Welker. He also voiced Dr. Claw in the Inspector Gadget cartoon.
