Where is Twin Lakes Located?
Twin Lakes is found in the southeastern part of Mahnomen County. Most of it is in the northwest section of Little Elbow Township. However, it also reaches north into the southwest part of Twin Lakes Township.
The community gets its name from two nearby lakes. A large part of South Twin Lake is inside the community's boundaries. The northern edge of Twin Lakes follows the southern shore of North Twin Lake.
Twin Lakes is about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of a place called Naytahwaush. It's also about 18 miles (29 km) east-northeast of Waubun. The county seat, Mahnomen, is also about 18 miles (29 km) east-southeast.
