Two Point Mountain is a very tall mountain located in Idaho, United States. It stands as the highest point in the Boise Mountains, reaching an amazing height of 10,124 feet (3,086 m) above sea level. You can find it within the Sawtooth National Forest, specifically in the Fairfield Ranger District.

This mountain is quite special because it has two main peaks. The name "Two Point Mountain" comes from this unique feature. Its main summit is the highest, but there's a second peak about 0.4 miles (0.64 km) to the northwest that is also very high, reaching 10,060 feet (3,070 m).

Where is Two Point Mountain Located?

Two Point Mountain is found in Camas County, Idaho. It's part of the beautiful Boise Mountains range. The mountain is also close to the Sawtooth Range, which is another famous mountain area in Idaho.

The mountain is an important part of the local water system. Water flowing from its south side goes into Bear Creek, and water from its north side flows into the Rosss Fork. Both of these creeks eventually join the South Fork Boise River.

Reaching the Summit

If you're thinking about climbing Two Point Mountain, it's important to know that there are no official, maintained trails leading to either of its peaks. This means that reaching the top requires a bit more adventure!

The easiest way to get to the summit is by what's called "simple scrambling." Scrambling is like a mix between hiking and rock climbing. You use both your hands and feet to move up steep, rocky areas. It's not as difficult as full rock climbing, but it still requires care and good balance. The difficulty is rated as class 2, which means it's a relatively easy scramble.
