Tyler Collins (born October 29, 1965) is an American R&B singer and actress. She is well-known for her hit song "Girls Nite Out" which was very popular in 1990.

About Tyler Collins
Tyler Collins was born in Harlem, New York, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. From a young age, she started taking lessons in dance and theatre. She also performed with a children's theatre group called Willow Opera Workshop in Los Angeles, California.
Her Music Journey
Tyler's professional music career began when she sang lead for an R&B group called The Boys Next Door. Later, she signed with RCA Records. This led to the release of her first album, Girls Nite Out.
She helped write the main song from the album, "Whatcha Gonna Do." This song became a hit, reaching number 8 on the Billboard R&B chart. The music video for "Whatcha Gonna Do" was directed by a famous director, Michael Bay.
In 1990, her next song, "Girls Nite Out," was also a big success. It reached number 8 on the Billboard R&B charts and number 6 on the Pop charts.
Tyler also sang on a song called "Lil' Brother" for singer Tevin Campbell's first album, T.E.V.I.N.. She even appeared in the music video for his song "Goodbye."
Writing Songs and More Albums
Tyler showed off her songwriting skills even more on her second album, Tyler. This album had a more pop sound than her first one. It included songs like "It Doesn't Matter" and "Just Make Me The One." Tyler has also written songs for other famous singers like Celine Dion and Shanice.
In 1995, Tyler was part of a group recording called Freedom (Theme From Panther). Many young female R&B artists, including Aaliyah and TLC, were also part of this project.
Also in 1995, Tyler Collins recorded "Never Alone (Eeyore's Lullaby)." This song was for a special album that honored Winnie the Pooh. It reached number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Movie Songs and Acting
Tyler's work with the legendary musician Prince led to a solo recording deal with Warner Bros. Records. While a full album wasn't released, she did record the song "Thanks to You." This song became a Top 20 hit on the Adult Contemporary charts. It was also the theme song for the movie Andre, and its music video was shown at the end of the film.
Besides her singing, Tyler Collins has also acted in movies and TV shows. She played Tina in the 1991 movie A Rage in Harlem. She also had a memorable role as Cinderella in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Today, Tyler lives in Los Angeles with her daughter.
