A Look Back: History of Uhrichsville
Uhrichsville was first planned in 1833. It was called "Waterford" back then. But people often called it "Uhrich's Mill." This was because of Michael Uhrich, who ran a mill in the area. In 1839, the town officially changed its name to Uhrichsville.
The town grew thanks to important transportation routes. The Ohio and Erie Canal helped move goods and people. Later, the Pan Handle Railroad also came through. Railroad shops built nearby in Dennison helped Uhrichsville grow even more.
In June 2008, the Uhrichsville Water Park opened. It has heated pools, fun slides, waterfalls, and water buckets. There is also a water jungle-gym for everyone to enjoy.
