History of Uniontown

Uniontown started as a post office in 1856. It was about two miles east of where it is now. Around 1865, the town moved to its current spot. The early people who settled here were very loyal to the Union side during the American Civil War. This is why they chose the name "Uniontown." For many years, the town was served by the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
