United Nations Security Council Resolution 46 was an important decision made by the United Nations Security Council on April 17, 1948. This resolution built upon earlier efforts, like United Nations Security Council Resolution 43, to bring peace to the Mandatory Palestine area. At the time, the United Kingdom was still the main power in charge of this territory. The Security Council believed it was the UK's job to help end the fighting there, and that all other UN members should help too.
