Usaburo Hidaka (日高 卯三郎, Hidaka Usaburō) was a Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Hidaka also played for the Japanese national team.

Playing for Clubs

Hidaka played football for a team called Osaka SC. This club was started by students who had graduated from his high school. Many players who later joined the Japan national team also played for Osaka SC. Some of these players included Kiyoo Kanda, Shiro Azumi, and Fukusaburo Harada. Other notable players were Toshio Hirabayashi, Setsu Sawagata, Kikuzo Kisaka, Yoshio Fujiwara, and Shumpei Inoue.

Playing for Japan

In May 1923, Usaburo Hidaka was chosen to play for the Japan national team. He was selected for the 1923 Far Eastern Championship Games. This big sports event took place in Osaka, Japan.

On May 23, Hidaka played his first game for Japan. This match was against the Philippines. This game was very special because it was Japan's first ever "International A Match." An International A Match is an official game between two national teams.

The very next day, he played another game. This time, Japan played against the Republic of China. Japan lost both of these matches. They lost 1-2 to the Philippines and 1-5 to the Republic of China. In total, Hidaka played 2 games for Japan in 1923.
