Vermilion Peak is a tall mountain in the state of Colorado, United States. It is one of the many amazing peaks in the San Juan Mountains. This mountain is special because it is one of Colorado's "Thirteeners." This means it is over 13,000 feet (3,962 meters) high! In fact, it is the 74th highest mountain in all of Colorado.
The mountain gets its name, Vermilion Peak, from its beautiful color. When the sun shines on it, the rocks often look red-orange, like the color "vermilion." It is located about 9.7 miles southeast of another peak called Gladstone Peak.
