Vernamiège was once a small town, also known as a municipality, located in the Valais region of Switzerland. It was part of the Hérens district. On January 1, 2011, Vernamiège joined with two other nearby towns, Nax and Mase. Together, they formed a brand new municipality called Mont-Noble.

Vernamiège covers an area of about 7.4 square kilometers (2.9 square miles). A big part of this land, about 71.4%, is covered by forests. About 20.4% of the area is used for farming. This includes pastures for animals and some areas for growing crops.
A smaller part, about 4.1%, has buildings and roads. There are also tiny areas with rivers or lakes. Some land, about 3.8%, is unproductive, meaning it's too rocky or has too little vegetation to be used for farming or building.

The coat of arms for Vernamiège has a special design. It shows a golden shepherd's staff coming up from the bottom. This staff crosses with a green branch from an alder tree, which has black fruits.
