Verona is a small town, called a borough, located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is about 13 miles (21 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Verona sits along the left bank of the Allegheny River. In 2020, about 2,492 people lived in the borough.

History of Verona
Verona got its name in a clever way. It was created by combining parts of two railroad stops: Verner and Iona. These stops were along the Allegheny Valley Railroad. James Verner was the person who founded the town.
Industries and Businesses
In the past, Verona was a busy place for different types of work. There were railroad shops, places that made tools, lumber yards, and factories that worked with steel and iron. A chemical plant also used to operate here.
One important company was Woodings-Verona Tool Works, Inc. They made tools on Jones Street. Today, American Beverage Corporation has a large factory in Verona. They make popular drinks like Daily's cocktail mixes and Little Hugs. This factory is located where a train roundhouse (a building for trains) once stood, next to Plum Creek.
Another company, Bunting Graphics, Inc., also operates in Verona. They create signs and architectural designs for places all over the world. They have even supplied signs for the National Parks System. In 1900, Verona had 1,904 residents, and by 1910, the population grew to 2,849.

Verona shares its borders with several other communities. To the north, you'll find Oakmont. To the east and south, Verona is next to Penn Hills Township. If you cross the Allegheny River to the west, you will reach O'Hara Township.

- Frank Saddler (1864–1921) was a famous Broadway orchestrator and music arranger. He lived in Verona during his childhood and early adult years.
