Veseli is a small, unique community in Rice County, Minnesota. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Wheatland Township.
Veseli was officially started in 1889. Its name comes from a city in the Czech Republic called Veselí nad Lužnicí. Many of the first people to settle here came from that area. Veseli was one of the four biggest communities in Minnesota founded by Czech immigrants.
