Victoria Francés was born in Valencia, Spain, on October 25, 1982. She spent some of her childhood in Galicia. Later, she studied Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Her first published work was a series of books called the Favole trilogy. These books, released between 2004 and 2007, show ideas from a style called Dark Romanticism. This style is inspired by groups like the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Gothic art. Her art became very popular and won many awards.
A company called Dark Horse helped publish her work in North America. Victoria Francés also made her first public appearance at the Barcelona Comic Convention. You can find her artwork on many items like calendars, posters, puzzles, and even tarot cards. In 2007, she released another book called Arlene’s Heart.
In 2009, she started a new series called Misty Circus. These books are about a traveling circus and are written for a younger audience. That same year, she worked with a French music band called Dark Sanctuary to create a book called Dark Sanctuary.
The second book in her Misty Circus series, titled The Night of the Witches, came out in 2010. In 2011, all three Favole books were put together into one big book called Integral Favole. This special edition also included new drawings. In 2012, she published Ocean's Lament, which features a sad mermaid as the main character.
Victoria Francés also creates art for other projects. She has drawn images for music albums, like "Hekate" for the German band Faun. She also created artwork for a project called "Naked Harp" by the band Omnia.
Towards the end of 2014, Victoria Francés started a new project called MandrakMoors. She worked with a South Korean doll company called FairyLand. For this project, she designed new characters related to witchcraft and pagan traditions. These designs were then used to create special ball-jointed dolls.
