Acting Career Highlights

Pedretti started her acting journey in 2014. She appeared in two short films. In Sole, she played the main female character. In Uncovering Eden, she played a character named Edie.

Breakthrough in Horror Series

In 2017, Pedretti was chosen for Mike Flanagan's Netflix horror series The Haunting of Hill House. She played Eleanor "Nell" Crain. The show was released in 2018 and was very popular. This role became her breakthrough role. Critics praised her performance. Some called her the "soul" of the show. Her acting made viewers feel Nell's pain and sadness. She was nominated for a Saturn Award and an MTV Award for this role. This helped establish her as a "scream queen."

Starring in You

Pedretti first tried out for a different role in the Netflix thriller series You. She did not get that part. However, the directors later cast her as Love Quinn in the show's second and third seasons. They liked her previous work and her chemistry with co-star Penn Badgley.

Filming during the COVID-19 pandemic was challenging. It took months to figure out how to film safely. The second and third seasons of You were released in 2019 and 2021. Critics praised her acting in season two. One magazine said she "delivered the perfect amount of spook and smolder." She was nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
