Timothée Hal Chalamet (born December 27, 1995) is an actor from the United States and France. He has won a Screen Actors Guild Award. He has also been nominated for many other big awards. These include two Academy Awards, four British Academy Film Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards.
Timothée started acting on TV in 2012, appearing in the show Homeland. In 2014, he acted in his first movie, Men, Women & Children. He also appeared in Christopher Nolan's science fiction film Interstellar. Timothée became famous around the world for his main role in Call Me by Your Name (2017). For this movie, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. He was one of the youngest people ever nominated in this category.
Timothée also had important roles in Greta Gerwig's films Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019). He played a main role as a teenager facing big challenges in the movie Beautiful Boy (2018). Early Life and School
Timothée Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995, in New York City. He grew up in a building for artists called Manhattan Plaza. His older sister, Pauline Chalamet, is also an actress. His mother, Nicole Flender, is from New York. She has a mix of Russian Jewish and Austrian Jewish family history. She used to be a Broadway dancer and a French teacher. His father, Marc Chalamet, is French. He works for UNICEF and is a reporter for a French newspaper. Timothée's family spent summers in a small French village. This helped him learn both English and French. He has citizenship in both the United States and France.
Timothée went to elementary and middle school in New York City. He found middle school tough because it didn't have many creative activities. He was inspired to act after seeing Heath Ledger play the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008). He then applied to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
