His Style and Inspirations

Starting with Polytechnique, Villeneuve became known for his unique visual style. His films often use long shots and careful scene setup. He uses steady camera work and quiet moments to create a strong mood. His movies often show characters who are trying to figure out who they are. These characters often feel alone in their worlds. You can see this in films like Sicario, Arrival, and the Dune movies.

Villeneuve has said that many famous directors have inspired him. Some of these include Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, and Christopher Nolan.
