Vijay Arora (born 27 December 1944 – died 2 February 2007) was a well-known Indian actor. He starred in many Hindi films and television shows. He is especially remembered for his role in the movie Yaadon Ki Baaraat and as Indrajit in the popular TV series Ramayan.

His Acting Journey

Vijay Arora started his acting career after studying at the Film and Television Institute of India. He even won a gold medal when he graduated in 1971!

He made his first movie appearance in Zaroorat in 1972. Soon after, he became very famous with the film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973). In this movie, he sang the romantic song "Chura Liya Hai", which became a big hit.

He acted alongside many famous actresses of his time. These included Asha Parekh, Zeenat Aman, Jaya Bhaduri, Waheeda Rehman, Shabana Azmi, Tanuja, Parveen Babi, and Moushumi Chatterjee. He also worked with famous director Hrishikesh Mukherjee in the film Sabse Bada Sukh (1972). Another one of his films, Jeevan Jyoti (1976), was a surprise success.

In the late 1980s, Vijay Arora became very popular on television. He played the powerful character of Meghnad Indrajit in the TV series Ramayan. This show was directed by Ramanand Sagar. He also appeared in another important series called Bharat Ek Khoj, where he played Prince Salim, who later became Emperor Jahangir.

Later in his career, he continued to act in TV shows like Lakeerein and Talaash. He also acted in some Gujarati films and many plays. Overall, he acted in over 110 films and more than 500 TV show episodes!

Vijay Arora was married to Dilber Debara, who was a former model and a Miss India. They had a son named Farhad.

Vijay Arora passed away on 2 February 2007, at his home in Mumbai. He died due to a stomach illness.
