Vincent Mendoza Bueno (born December 10, 1985) is an Austrian singer with family roots in the Philippines.

In 2008, he won an Austrian TV show called Musical! Die Show. This show was a singing contest for musicals.

Vincent also performed with the famous Filipino singer Sarah Geronimo in Vienna. He later decided to start his music career in the Philippines. His first performance on Philippine TV was on ASAP XV in 2010. He also signed a contract with Star Records to release his music there.

He was chosen to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in the Netherlands. His song was "Alive". However, the event was canceled because of the Coronavirus. Instead, he represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Amen". His song did not make it to the final round that year.

Vincent's Music Journey

Starting Young

Vincent Bueno began dancing when he was just 4 years old. He later studied music and performing arts at the Vienna Conservatory of Music.

He also writes R&B music. He took special classes for acting, dancing, and singing. By age 11, he could play four instruments: piano, guitar, drums, and bass guitar. His father was also a musician, playing guitar in a band in the 1970s.

Winning Musical! Die Show

The TV contest Musical! Die Show started in November 2007. About 400 people tried out, but only 10 contestants made it to the main show. Viewers in Austria and other European countries voted for their favorite singers.

Vincent sang many popular songs from musicals. Some of these included "Hair", "I Wanna Be Like You" from Jungle Book, and "Superstar" from Jesus Christ Superstar. He also sang "Singin' in the Rain" and the German version of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" from Mary Poppins.

Vincent won the contest, beating two other finalists. He won 50,000 Euros and a great chance to boost his career. He performed "Greased Lightnin'" from Grease and "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera. Vincent received 67% of the votes, which was a huge win!

Music in the Philippines

Vincent's first time on Philippine TV was on ASAP XV on August 29, 2010. He was introduced as the "Pinoy Champ Austrian Singer". He stayed on ASAP for a few weeks and signed a contract with Star Records.

He went back to Austria in September 2010 to finish some work. Then, he returned to the Philippines in early 2011 to continue his music career.

On October 28, 2011, Vincent had his first mini-concert. It was called "Got Fridays with Vincent Bueno" and took place in San Juan.

Eurovision Song Contest

On December 12, 2019, Vincent was chosen to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The contest was planned for Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His song was "Alive".

However, on March 18, 2020, the event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Later that month, it was confirmed that Vincent Bueno would represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 instead. He sang the song "Amen" in the second semi-final on May 20, 2021. He finished 12th and did not make it to the final.

In June 2021, Vincent released a short album called Demos.

His Voice and Style

Vincent's singing voice is known as a tenor. This means he has a high male singing voice.

He has released one studio album and a single in German. He also shares unofficial music videos and songs on his official YouTube and Facebook pages.

Both of Vincent's parents are Filipino Ilocano immigrants.

Besides his native German language, Vincent can also speak English and some Filipino.
