Vita Chambers was born in Vancouver, Canada. She later moved to Barbados, where she grew up. When she was 15 years old, she started her music journey. She put four of her own songs on her MySpace page.
When Vita turned 16, a music executive named Sylvia Rhone signed her to Universal Motown. This was a big step for her career!
First Performances and Tours
In November 2009, Vita performed at the Thanksgiving Day NFL half-time show. She sang her song "Heat Wave." Her first single, "Young Money," came out in March 2010.
Later that same month, she released an EP (which is like a mini-album) called "The Get Go." It had five songs and was available on iTunes.
When she was 17, Vita got to tour with another famous Canadian singer, Justin Bieber. She was one of the opening acts for his My World Tour in 2010. She also performed at other big music events like Lilith Fair and the Bamboozle Road Show. She even performed with Estelle at the 2010 Soul Train Awards.

Vita was also ranked as the #4 "Emerging Artist" on the Canadian Hot 100 Billboard chart. The song stayed in the top 100 for over 20 weeks. "Fix You" even earned "Gold status" in Canada, meaning it sold a lot of copies. It has sold over 350,000 copies around the world!
Later in 2013, Vita released another single called "What If?". In 2014, she received two nominations at the Canadian Music Radio Awards. These nominations were for "Best New Group or Solo Artist" in different music categories.
