Elsa Viveca Torstensdotter Lindfors (born December 29, 1920 – died October 25, 1995) was a famous Swedish-American actress. She starred in many plays, movies, and TV shows. Viveca Lindfors won an Emmy Award and a Silver Bear for Best Actress for her acting.

About Viveca Lindfors
Viveca Lindfors was born in Uppsala, Sweden. Her parents were Karin Emilia Therese and Axel Torsten Lindfors.
Early Life and Training
Viveca studied acting at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. Soon after, she became a well-known star in Swedish theater and movies.
Moving to Hollywood
In 1946, Viveca moved to the United States. She signed a contract with Warner Bros., a big movie studio, and started working in Hollywood. She acted in over 100 films! Some of her movies include Creepshow, The Sure Thing, and Stargate. She worked with many famous actors like Ronald Reagan, Charlton Heston, and Errol Flynn.
Stage and Television Work
Viveca also performed a lot on stage. In 1952, she acted on Broadway in New York City. Two years later, she made her first appearance in London's West End.
She was often seen on television, usually as a guest star. In 1990, she won an Emmy Award for her role in the TV series Life Goes On. She was also nominated for an Emmy in 1978.
Awards and Later Career
In 1962, Viveca won the Silver Bear for Best Actress award at the Berlin Film Festival. She shared this award with actress Rita Gam for their movie No Exit. One of her most remembered later movie roles was as Professor Taub in The Sure Thing (1985).
In her final years, Viveca taught acting at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She also played a main role in the film Last Summer in the Hamptons (1995). That same year, she went back to Sweden to perform in a play.
Personal Life
Viveca Lindfors was married four times. Her husbands included Swedish cinematographer Harry Hasso, chess president Folke Rogard, director Don Siegel, and writer George Tabori. She had three children: two sons, John and actor Kristoffer Tabori, and a daughter, Lena.
Viveca became a citizen of the United States. She was a liberal Democrat and supported President Jimmy Carter.
Viveca Lindfors passed away in Uppsala, Sweden, at age 74. She was buried in Uppsala Gamla cemetery.
