Waggoner is a small village located in Montgomery County, Illinois, in the United States. In the 2020 census, 181 people lived there. This was a decrease from 266 people in the 2010 census.

Exploring Waggoner's Location
Waggoner is found in the northwest part of Montgomery County. It is about 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Raymond. It is also 21 miles (34 km) northwest of Hillsboro, which is the main town of the county, called the county seat.
Nearby Roads and Waterways
Interstate 55 is a major highway that runs just east of Waggoner. However, there isn't a direct exit for the village. The closest ways to get on or off the interstate are about 4 miles (6 km) south in Zanesville or 4.5 miles (7 km) north in Farmersville.
The village covers a total area of about 0.24 square miles (0.63 square kilometers). All of this area is land. Water from Waggoner flows into smaller streams that lead to Horse Creek. Horse Creek then joins Macoupin Creek, which is part of the larger Illinois River system.

Waggoner Centennial Play
The Waggoner Centennial Players are a group of local citizens who put on an annual play. This play is held at the Waggoner Centennial Building. In 2013, the Waggoner Centennial Players celebrated their 25th anniversary. Even though the town has only about 200 people, more than 1,000 tickets are sold for the play each year! This shows how popular the play is in the community.
