History of Walkersville
Walkersville has some interesting historical spots. Three places in the town are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important buildings or areas that are kept safe because of their history.
- The Crum Road Bridge was added to this list in 1978.
- The Woodsboro and Frederick Turnpike Company Tollhouse joined in 1979. This was a place where people paid money to use a special road.
- Harris Farm was recognized in 1994.

Walkersville Southern Railroad
A unique attraction is the Walkersville Southern Railroad. From May through October, you can take scenic train rides. This train uses tracks that were built way back in 1872 as part of the Pennsylvania Railroad. It's a cool way to see the area and learn about its history.
