Warka is a town in east-central Poland. It sits on the left bank of the Pilica river. Warka is about 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Warsaw, the capital city. In 2013, about 11,858 people lived there.

Since 1999, Warka has been part of Grójec County in the Masovian Voivodeship. Before that, from 1975 to 1998, it was in the Radom Voivodeship. Warka received its official town rights in 1321.

A village called Winiary is now part of Warka. This place was the childhood home of General Casimir Pulaski. It was also the birthplace of Colonel Piotr Wysocki. Warka is also famous for its brewery, which has been making beer since 1478. During the UEFA Euro 2012 football tournament, Warka hosted the Croatia national football team.

  • Yaakov Aryeh Guterman (1792-1874): Like Kalish, Guterman was also a significant hasidic rebbe.
  • Adam Jarzębski (c. 1590– c. 1648): Jarzębski was a Polish composer, violinist, poet, and writer. He was active during the early Baroque period.
