Warren Frost (born June 5, 1925 – died February 17, 2017) was an American actor. He mostly worked in theater plays. He also appeared in movies and on television from 1958. People remember him for his TV roles. These include his parts on Matlock and Seinfeld. He was especially famous as Doctor Hayward on Twin Peaks. His son, Mark Frost, helped create the Twin Peaks series. Warren Frost also acted in TV movies like Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) and The Stand (1994).

Early Life of Warren Frost
Warren Frost was born in 1925 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He grew up in the Bronx and Essex Junction, Vermont.
When he was 17, he joined the United States Navy. This was during World War II. He served on a ship called the USS Borum. He was in Europe during the Normandy landings. These landings were a very important part of the war. At age 21, he went to Middlebury College in Vermont. He studied English there. He used the G.I. Bill to pay for his studies. This bill helped soldiers go to college after the war.
Warren Frost's Acting Career
Warren Frost spent much of his career in the Twin Cities area. He taught at the University of Minnesota. He was also the artistic director of the Chimera Theater in St. Paul. He had a small role in the movie Slaughterhouse-Five (1972). This movie was filmed in the Minneapolis area.
His work in Hollywood, like on Twin Peaks and Matlock, was his second career. He started it after he stopped teaching and directing plays. He was 60 years old when his son Mark cast him in Twin Peaks. Mark Frost created Twin Peaks with David Lynch. Warren played Dr. Will Hayward in 30 episodes. He also appeared in the movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. His scenes were later cut from the final movie. His role in Twin Peaks led to more TV work. He got a regular role in the legal show Matlock.
On the TV show Seinfeld, he played Henry Ross. Henry Ross was the father of Susan Ross. Susan was George Costanza's fiancée. His TV wife on Seinfeld was played by Grace Zabriskie. She was also his co-star on Twin Peaks.
Warren Frost returned to play Doc Hayward again. This was for the new Twin Peaks series. It started airing in May 2017.
Warren Frost's Family Life
Warren Frost married Mary Virginia Calhoun in 1949. They had three children. His children are Mark Frost, who is a novelist and TV writer. His daughter is actress Lindsay Frost. His other son is writer Scott Frost. He was also the grandfather of baseball player Lucas Giolito. Another grandson is actor Casey Giolito. He also had a grandson from his oldest son Mark.
Warren Frost passed away at his home in Middlebury, Vermont. He died on February 17, 2017. He was 91 years old and had been ill for a long time.
