Webberville is a small village located in Ingham County, in the state of Michigan, USA. It is part of Leroy Township. In 2020, about 1,288 people lived there.

The village is found just northeast of where two main roads, M-43 and M-52, meet the big highway I-96. Webberville is about 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Williamston and about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Lansing.

Webberville covers a total area of about 1.84 square miles (4.77 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.83 square miles (4.74 square kilometers), is land. Only a very small part, about 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometers), is water.

History of Webberville

Webberville was first settled in 1837 by a person named Ephraim Meech.

Early Names of the Village

When it was first settled, the village was called Phelpstown. Later, in 1850, its name was changed to Leroy. This new name honored Daniel LeRoy, who was the first Attorney General of Michigan.

Becoming Webberville

In 1867, the village's name was changed again to Webberville. This happened because there was another town in Michigan already named Leroy. The new name, Webberville, was chosen to honor Hubert Webber, who was the postmaster at the time.

From 1996 to 2012, a company called the Michigan Brewing Company operated in Webberville.
