West San Jose is a part of San Jose, California. It's located on the western side of the city. It shares borders with other nearby cities like Santa Clara, Cupertino, Saratoga, and Campbell.
You can find its boundaries marked by streets and highways. For example, Stevens Creek Boulevard is to the north. State Route 17 is to the east. State Route 85 is to the south. And De Anza Boulevard is to the west.
West San Jose is home to several popular places. These include the famous Winchester Mystery House, the shopping and dining area called Santana Row, and the large Westfield Valley Fair mall.

History of West San Jose
Most of the homes in West San Jose were built in the 1950s. Back then, they were considered affordable homes. However, things changed a lot with the growth of the tech industry. This area is part of what's known as Silicon Valley.
Because of the tech boom, West San Jose has become a much more expensive place to live. Today, the average value of homes is very high. This is especially true in the western parts that are close to Cupertino and Saratoga.

One of the most famous spots here is the Winchester Mystery House. It's a special place recognized as a California Historical Landmark. Many people visit it every year.
