Understanding White Mountain
It's easy to mix up White Mountain with other mountains that have similar names. It's important to know the difference between them:
- False White Mountain: This mountain is sometimes confused with White Mountain because of its name.
- White Mountain Peak: This is a completely different mountain. It is the third-highest mountain in all of California.
Climbing White Mountain
Climbing White Mountain is considered a Class 2 climb on the Yosemite Decimal System (YDS). This means the climb is fairly easy. You might need to use your hands for balance sometimes, but you won't need special climbing gear like ropes. The first recorded climb to the top was in 1917 by Walter L. Huber.
