Whitechurch (Irish: An Teampall Geal) is a small area located on the south side of County Dublin, Ireland. It's a quiet place, a mix of suburban homes and rural spots. Whitechurch sits close to the Dublin mountains, south of Ballyboden and west of Marlay Park. Many people think of Whitechurch as part of the larger Rathfarnham area. It's known for its history and green surroundings.

What's in a Name?

The name "Whitechurch" comes from a small, old white church. This church was built a long time ago in a place called Kilmashogue. It was near an ancient stone mound called a cairn. Not much of the original white church is left today.
