The Whitefish River is a river in Ontario, Canada. It flows for about 45 kilometers (28 miles). This river is found in the Thunder Bay District in Northwestern Ontario. It is part of the Lake Superior drainage basin, which means its waters eventually flow into Lake Superior. The Whitefish River is a smaller river that flows into a larger one called the Kaministiquia River. It is located in the middle of the Whitefish River Valley. This valley is home to several small towns that grew up along an old railway line.

Where Does the Whitefish River Flow?
The Whitefish River starts from a lake that doesn't have a name. This lake is located in an area called the Nolalu Local Service Board. It's about 7 kilometers (4 miles) northeast of a small community named Mackies. The river begins near Ontario Highway 588.
The River's Journey to Lake Superior
From its start, the Whitefish River flows towards the east. Along its path, it is joined by another river called the North River. The Whitefish River then continues its journey to the northeast. It flows through three different areas: Gillies, O'Connor, and Oliver Paipoonge. Finally, the Whitefish River reaches its end where it joins the Kaministiquia River. The Kaministiquia River then flows into Thunder Bay, which is part of Lake Superior.
