Wii Party facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Wii Party is a fun party video game made for the Nintendo Wii game console. It came out in Japan on July 8, 2010. Players in North America got to play it on October 3, 2010, and in Europe on October 8, 2010. This game is a lot like the Mario Party series, which is also made by Nintendo. Wii Party has more than 80 exciting minigames to enjoy, including popular ones like Spin-Off and House Party.

How to Play Wii Party

Wii Party offers many different ways to play. Each game mode has its own rules and goals, making sure there's always something new to try. You'll use your own Mii characters to play these games.

Board Game Island

This mode is like playing a board game on an island. At the start, all players compete in a quick minigame. The winner gets a special gold dice, which can roll numbers from 1 to 6. The second-place player gets a silver dice (1-3), and the third-place player gets a bronze dice (1-2). The last player uses a normal dice (1-6).

The winner of the first minigame starts the game. Then, players take turns rolling their dice to move around the board. The main goal is to be the first to reach the mountaintop at the end of the board. Along the way, you'll land on different spaces that can help or challenge you. After everyone has rolled their dice, another minigame begins.

Globe Trot

In Globe Trot, you get to travel around the world! Instead of rolling dice, you use cards to move. These cards let you move 1, 2, or 3 spaces. Each player starts with 10 coins. This is a fun nod to the Mario Party series.

Your goal is to visit special places around the globe. For example, you might need to "buy a fan in Japan" or "eat a Hamburger in the USA". Visiting each spot costs 10 coins. Every time you visit a new place, you collect a photo. The player who has the most photos at the end of the game wins!

Bingo

Bingo is a classic game, and Wii Party makes it even more fun! It's a playful version of the well-known gambling game, Bingo. Each player picks a bingo card that has different Mii faces on it.

The game starts, and a big bingo machine drops balls, one by one. Each ball shows a Mii face. If you have three Mii faces in a row on your card, you shout "Bingo!" and win! Sometimes, a special "Minigame ball" will drop. When this happens, all players play a minigame. The winner of that minigame gets to choose which Mii face they want to mark off on their card.

Mii of a Kind

Mii of a Kind is a game where players swap their Miis. You'll trade your Miis with other Miis that are in the middle of the screen. The first player to get two rows of three matching Miis wins the game. This mode is a fun take on the card game called Thirty-one.

Spin Off

In Spin Off, players take turns spinning a large wheel. The wheel will land on different amounts of money. The player who collects the most money by the end of the game is the winner!
