William Green was a highly-rated player for the 2002 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns picked him as the 16th overall player. This was in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft.
As a rookie in 2002, William played in all 16 regular season games. He started ten of these games. He gained 887 yards rushing and scored six touchdowns. In a key game against Atlanta, he ran for a 64-yard touchdown. This play helped the Browns win and was called "Run William Run!" by a radio announcer.
