Williamson is a small city located in Pike County, Georgia, in the United States. In 2020, about 681 people lived there.

History of Williamson
The community of Williamson was named after an early settler, Isaac Henry Williamson.
The state government of Georgia, called the Georgia General Assembly, officially recognized Williamson as a town in 1908. Later, in 1970, it became a city.

Williamson is located at coordinates 33 degrees, 10 minutes, 47 seconds North and 84 degrees, 21 minutes, 47 seconds West.
The United States Census Bureau says that Williamson covers a total area of about 0.6 square miles (1.55 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

In the year 2000, a census showed that 297 people lived in Williamson. These people made up 115 households, with 86 of them being families. By 2020, the number of people living in Williamson had grown to 681.
Education in Williamson
The public schools in Williamson are part of the Pike County School District. This school district has several different schools for students of all ages.
There is one building for Pre-Kindergarten (funded by a lottery). There is also a primary school for grades K-2, and an elementary school for grades 3-5. For older students, there is a middle school for grades 6-8, a ninth-grade academy, and two high schools.
The person in charge of all the schools in the district is Michael Duncan, who is the Superintendent of Schools.
Arts and Culture in Williamson
Williamson is home to the Candler Field Museum. This museum was created to look like the old Atlanta airport did in the 1920s and 1930s. It's a place where you can learn about early aviation history.
