Willie Williams played for two seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of the Phoenix Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints. He also played for the Amsterdam Admirals and the Toronto Argonauts.
Early Life and College Football
Willie Lee Williams Jr. was born in Houston, Texas. He went to Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston.
After high school, Williams played college football for the LSU Tigers. He played as a tight end for the team. A tight end is a player who can block for runs and also catch passes.
Playing Professional Football
Willie Williams was chosen by the Phoenix Cardinals in the 1990 NFL supplemental draft. A supplemental draft is a special draft held after the main NFL Draft.
In 1991, he played in 16 games for the Cardinals. He started three of those games. Later, in 1994, Williams played for the New Orleans Saints. He was in 16 games for them and started five times.
Williams also played in other leagues. In 1996, he was picked by the Amsterdam Admirals in the World League of American Football (WLAF) Draft. He played for them during the 1996 season. From 1997 to 1998, he played for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played in 33 games for the Argonauts.
