Where is Wilsons Plains?
Wilsons Plains is bordered on its north-west side by a waterway called Warrill Creek. A major road, the Cunningham Highway, also runs very close to its western edge.

Wilsons Plains has an interesting past, especially with its old railway line.
The Old Railway Line
The Fassifern railway line was Queensland's very first branch railway line. This means it was a smaller line that branched off a main one. It opened on 10 July 1882, connecting Ipswich to Harrisville.
Later, on 12 September 1887, the railway line was made longer. It reached all the way to Dugundan. Wilsons Plains had its own stop called Wilsons Plains railway station. This station was located at the corner of Wilsons Plains Road and Redhill Road. The railway line served the area for many years before it finally closed in June 1964.
