Where is Wilsonton Located?

Wilsonton is about 5.9 kilometers (3.7 miles) north-west of the main city area of Toowoomba. This main city area is often called the Central Business District, or CBD.

A Brief History of Wilsonton

Wilsonton officially got its name in 1981. It is thought to be named after James T. Wilson. He was a businessman in the 1870s who supported the Toowoomba Agricultural Society.

In 2006, the borders of Wilsonton were changed. This happened when Wilsonton Heights became its own separate suburb.
