Woodbrook is about three miles north of the city of Wilmington. It is part of a larger area called Brandywine Hundred in New Castle County.

His goal was to protect open land near the Brandywine River and to help provide homes that people could afford. Other nearby communities like Sharpley, Edenridge, and Tavistock were also developed by Woodlawn Trustees.
