Wumpa's World (also known as French: Le monde de Wumpa in French and Chinese: 沃帕的世界; pinyin: wò pà de shìjiè in Chinese) is a fun children's TV show. It was made by both China and Canada. The show first aired on many TV channels, like Treehouse TV, The Knowledge Channel, APTN, CCTV, TVB, and TDM.

The series had 26 episodes, each about 15 minutes long. It ran from August 2001 to May 2002. A special first episode came out in late 2000. The characters in Wumpa's World are all puppets. You can still catch reruns of the show today.

Meet the Characters

The show features a group of unique characters who live in a special version of the Arctic Circle. They are all puppets and each has their own personality.

Wumpa

  • Wumpa (Chinese: 沃帕; pinyin: Wò pà) is a friendly brown walrus. He is the narrator of the show, meaning he tells the stories. These stories are about real-life adventures in the Arctic. At the end of every episode, Wumpa sings his own "goodbye song." He plays a bass guitar that looks like a snowshoe! His most famous line is, "Well, bye-bye, and don't forget, always keep your tusks shiny and your blubber clean." Sometimes, Wumpa even joins in the stories himself. The voice of Wumpa is done by Lorne Cardinal.
