The Yantic River is a cool river in Connecticut, USA. It starts when three smaller streams – the Deep River, Sherman Brook, and Exeter Brook – join together. This meeting point is about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Colchester, Connecticut.
The river flows for about 14.2 miles (22.9 km). It ends when it meets the Shetucket River in Norwich. When these two rivers combine, they form the Thames River. The Yantic River is a popular spot for whitewater paddling. It has parts with calm, fast-moving water and other parts with exciting rapids. The river flows through the towns of Lebanon, Bozrah, and Norwich. A ship called the USS Yantic was even named after this river!
