Her Unique Artwork
Yeşim Ağaoğlu's art often involves performance art, visual materials, and everyday objects.
How She Creates Art
At first, her poems, typed on yellow paper, were central to her art. She would arrange these yellow pages into large, geometric piles in exhibition spaces. These piles became a type of art installation. Even when she wasn't actively performing, her presence among the viewers made her art feel like a performance. Her art style is simple and modest. She describes her works as "technically simple but conceptually rich," meaning they look simple but have deep meanings.
Photography and Messages
As a photographer, Yeşim explores cities, capturing images of different buildings and people. She focuses on how buildings mix old and new styles, the variety of people, differences in gender, and hidden messages in society. She is very aware of the social and political situations around her. She uses special ways to share her messages through her art, always finding new methods to connect with people who see her work.
