Yoga Lin Youjia (Chinese: 林宥嘉; pinyin: Lín Yòujiā; born July 1, 1987) is a famous Taiwanese singer. He became well-known after winning the first season of One Million Star. This was a popular TV singing competition in Taiwan. He was studying at National Dong Hwa University at the time.
During the competition, Yoga almost quit. His good friend, Eddie Tsai, was eliminated, and Yoga felt sad. However, the show's producers convinced him to keep going. After that, he got five perfect scores in a row. This was a record that no one else has beaten since!
After winning, Yoga Lin signed with HIM International Music. Three other contestants, Judy Chou, Peter Pan, and Stanly Hsu, also signed with the company. They were called the "Four Princes of Superstar Avenue."
Yoga released his first album, Mystery Guest, on June 3, 2008. Before this, he had already released two other music collections and a TV show soundtrack. In 2008, he made history by being the youngest singer to have a solo concert tour in three big cities in Taiwan, even before his first album was out!
He finished his "Yoga's Trick Concert Tour" in Hong Kong and Singapore in early 2009. His second album, Senses Around, came out on October 30, 2009. He continued to release more albums, including Perfect Life in 2011 and Fiction in 2012. He also released a live jazz album called JAZZ CHANNEL in 2013. His concert IDOL took place in late 2018.

Early Life and Music Journey
When Yoga Lin was in high school, he was the main singer of a rock band. He learned a lot from a famous Taiwanese rock singer named Roger Yang. Later, in college, he joined another rock band. He kept practicing his singing and tried out different kinds of music.
Even though he had never been in a formal singing contest before, Yoga decided to try out for One Million Star. He went to the audition in Kaohsiung for the first season of the show.
Yoga Lin's Personal Life
In June 2013, Yoga Lin had a public relationship with Hong Kong singer G.E.M.. They traveled to Germany and Austria together. However, they broke up in February 2014.
On August 13, 2014, Yoga took a break from music to join the military. He finished his military service on July 22, 2015.
In May 2014, his relationship with singer Kiki Ting became public. Yoga and Kiki officially got married on January 7, 2017. They had a wedding party in Taipei on June 26. Their son, whose nickname is Kubi, was born on August 3, 2018. On March 27, 2020, Yoga announced that Kiki had given birth to their second child, a daughter named Pippi.
Yoga Lin's Career Highlights
One Million Star Competition (2007)
During the One Million Star competition, Yoga Lin really impressed the judges. He sang Steel Rope Walker in a very unique way. The show's host, Matilda Tao, called his performance "enchanting." She loved his special, dreamy voice and his facial expressions. Judges also praised him for always performing well.
Yoga earned "perfect scores" (20 points or more) for five weeks in a row. He got a total of nine perfect scores at different times. In the final match, his last five performances earned him 17, 23, 23, 23, and 25 points, adding up to 111. This was a record that stood for a long time. Yoga was also known for being able to sing many different music styles. He could add his own special touch to songs and chose unique songs to perform.
In the live finale of One Million Star on July 6, 2007, Yoga sang Radiohead's famous song, Creep. He used this song to show his feelings about music. All five judges gave him a perfect score of 25. They recognized his honest and stylish way of singing the song. He also sang Eason Chan's Last Order perfectly. These performances helped him win the first season of One Million Star.
Joining HIM International Music (2007–Present)
After winning One Million Star, Yoga Lin signed a six-year contract with HIM International Music. He released two music collections and the soundtrack for the TV show Bull Fighting. He also performed live a lot and appeared in TV commercials. He endorsed products like SYM MIO Scooters and Hi-Chew Candy.
In September 2007, Yoga performed in Hong Kong with his label mate, Tank. Later that year, he went on a promotional tour in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. On December 29, 2007, Yoga and other contestants from One Million Star held their first concert. It was called "Superstar Avenue Reunion" at National Taiwan University. This concert set a record for new artists holding a concert so quickly. All 4,000 tickets sold out!
On March 15, 2008, Yoga and other singers from his record label had their first official concert overseas in Genting, Malaysia. On August 3, 2008, Yoga and his label mates held two concerts in Hong Kong. All 6,000 tickets sold out in just two days. On October 3, Yoga was invited to perform at the 5th Asia Song Festival in Seoul, Korea. He won the Best Taiwan Newcomer Award there. On October 25, 2008, Yoga won the Annual Popularity Artist and Best Newcomer awards at the Singapore Hit Award. His album Mystery Guest also won the important Best Producer Award.
Yoga's first album, Mystery Guest, came out on June 3, 2008, in Taiwan. Critics and fans loved this album. It was also very successful, selling over 40,000 copies in the first week. It topped music charts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and China. Mystery Guest and Yoga were nominated for six awards at the 2008 Singapore Hit Award. He won Best Producer and Newcomer awards.
To celebrate his album release, he also had his "Yoga's Trick Concert Tour" in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. He still holds the record for being the youngest recording artist to tour in Taiwan. He received great praise for his amazing songs and stage performances during this tour.
Yoga held his "Yoga's Trick Concert" in Hong Kong on January 23 and 24, 2009. Both nights were sold out. On the second night, he performed four extra songs, making the concert last over three hours. The final stop of the tour was in Singapore on February 20, with 7,000 fans at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
He released his second album, Senses Around, on October 30, 2009. His third album, Perfect Life, was released on May 6, 2011, across Asia. His record company, HIM International Music, announced that he would go on a concert tour starting in August 2011. This tour included cities like Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing.

- "That Very Song" ("那首歌")
This was Yoga Lin's first single. It was part of the album Love Star's Reunion – Yesterday, Now and Tomorrow. This song was chosen as one of the 2007 Top 13 Love Songs by KISS Radio and Apple Daily.
- "Shadow of Your Back" ("背影")
This song was a theme song for the Taiwan drama Bull Fighting. It's a sweet and romantic song about someone who secretly loves a person but stays in the background because their love isn't returned.
- "Legend" ("傳說")
This is a duet between Yoga Lin and Li Yang Liu. Li Yang Liu became famous from the singing contest Super Girls in China. "Legend" was a sub-theme song for a Korean drama called First King Four Gods.
- "The Gaze" ("眼色")
This song was written by Chinese singer-songwriter Li Quan. It was the opening song for Yoga's Trick Concert Tour. It was released digitally before his Mystery Guest album came out.
- "Fly My Way"
This song was the theme for an online game that Yoga endorsed in China. It was also a bonus track on his third album, Perfect Life.
- "Otomen" ("少女")
This song talks about a man's gentle feelings when he is in love. It describes Yoga's love story with his wife, and his wife even appears in the music video!
- "Flame in the Brook" ("火焰小溪")
This song shares a vision of the magical energy found in nature. It suggests that even a small spark can grow into a big fire, and tiny streams can join to form an ocean. This song was also created to help deaf children, hoping they always have hope for the future.
