Yoshi's Woolly World is a fun video game where you play as Yoshi. It's known as Yoshi Wool World in Japan. This game is a platformer, meaning you jump and run through levels. It's also a side-scrolling game, so you move from one side of the screen to the other. The game was made by Good-Feel and released by Nintendo. It came out in 2015 for the Wii U console. This was a special game because it was the first Yoshi game on a home console since Yoshi's Story came out on the Nintendo 64 way back in 1997.
Game Announcement
The idea for Yoshi's Woolly World was first shared by Satoru Iwata. He was the CEO of Nintendo at the time. This happened on January 23, 2013. The game was first called Yarn Yoshi.
Amiibo Fun
This game works with special Amiibo figures. Amiibo are small toys that can connect to your game console. They unlock cool things in the game. For Yoshi's Woolly World, Nintendo even made new Amiibo. These special Amiibo are made out of yarn! There are three yarn Yoshi Amiibo: pink, green, and blue.
Other Appearances
Yoshi's woolly world also appears in another popular game. A stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is based on Yoshi's Woolly World. This means you can fight on a stage that looks like it's made of yarn!
