Lathan Williams (born in 1975 in Vallejo, California), known as Young Lay, is a San Francisco Bay Area hip hop artist. He is a talented rapper from the West Coast.

In 1995, Young Lay faced a serious challenge. He was badly hurt but showed great strength. He worked hard in therapy to recover and learn to speak again. After this, he bravely continued his music career.
In 1996, a sad event happened involving Young Lay's infant son, Le-Zhan Williams. The baby was taken from his home. This case was featured on TV shows like America's Most Wanted and Unsolved Mysteries.
Six years later, in 2002, police received a tip. This led to the arrest of the people involved. Young Lay's son, Le-Zhan, who was then six years old, was safely reunited with his family.
