Yountville (/ˈjɔːntvɪl/ or /ˈjaʊntvɪl/) is a small town in Napa County, California. It is located in the famous Wine Country region of the United States. Yountville is part of the North Bay area, which is near the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2020, about 3,436 people lived in Yountville. A large part of the town's population lives at the Veterans Home of California. Yountville is a popular place for tourists. Many people visit for its beautiful wineries and its very famous restaurant, The French Laundry. This restaurant has received special awards called Michelin stars.

History of Yountville
The town was first called Sebastopol in 1855.
However, another town in nearby Sonoma County already had the name Sebastopol. So, in 1867, the town was renamed Yountville. This new name honored George C. Yount after he passed away. George C. Yount was important because he started the very first vineyard in the Napa Valley.
Geography and Climate
Yountville is found within the beautiful Napa Valley. This area is part of the North Bay region in Northern California.
The United States Census Bureau says that Yountville covers about 4.0 square kilometers (1.49 square miles). All of this area is land.
On September 3, 2000, a moderate earthquake with a strength of 5.2 happened in Yountville.
