Yoxall is a lovely village in Staffordshire, England. It sits by the River Swarbourn. You can find it north of Lichfield and southwest of Burton upon Trent. Just south of the village, Yoxall Bridge crosses the bigger River Trent.
The name Yoxall likely comes from old words. It means "yoke's nook." This might refer to a small piece of land. It could be small enough for one team of oxen to plow. Or it might have been land that fed a team of oxen.
